Network Marketing NO NOs for Social Media, yes, this INCLUDES Facebook & Twitter…

I chuckle as I write this post…
Why?

Because I have seen, experienced, been prey to, and (yes, being honest) I once did this, too.
AND NOW I KNOW BETTER!!!

Today’s blog is one of the reasons I am launching The Network Marketing DIVAS (you can click it but the site isn’t up yet – it is in the works)! To empower the leaders of EVERY Network Marketing company, all 5,000 plus of them, as well as the “Millionairesses,” to have an ANONYMOUS place to share what drives them, what keeps them up at night, what they LOVE and HATE about the business. . . for some, it is even things they don’t like about their own company. Sad, but true.

Why? Because they have so many years vested and are dependent upon that income, no matter how large or small, that they see no other way than to stick it out. They have stories to share that will inspire, empower and ignite every one who visits this new blog! It may be to STOP doing things the way you are and to START doing stuff differently…just like the below post may do for some of you.

(AND YES, there will be posts by men. No worries.)

With that, on with today’s tidbits on a THRIVING (and record-breaking snowy) THURSDAY!!!

So, tell me if this has ever happened to you (comments are WELCOMED and ENCOURAGED so please add below)…

You log on to Facebook and your wall opens to a LONG LIST of pillows being thrown at you. REALLY?!? You want to hit ME with a PILLOW!? My response?…REMOVE!

You see someone in need of a cow…REMOVE.

Come join my Mafia squad…REMOVE.

Do you need to make more money by working from home? REMOVE.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here’s the deal, I prefer to see a MESSAGE from a friend and not a game or application or EVEN WORSE a sales pitch!

Did I say SALES PITCH?!?

As I scroll down my wall past the cards, pillows, and more (which many people don’t even realize WHAT they are doing when they click stuff – been there, done that, and learned what NOT to do…FAST!), I see a “new” Facebook friend (should really be called an ACQUAINTANCE because I can’t tell you much about them yet…as I added them 2 minutes ago and we haven’t chatted or emailed yet…and now, we MAY NOT – or will we?) has typed a MESSAGE.

Yea, well, maybe…except it is all about their business!!!

Have you seen it too? Someone saying WHY you need to join their team, company, or new business.

For instance “You deserve to make more money than you currently do in your job.” OH REALLY!?

What makes you think that is of interest to me? Did you just assume I don’t enjoy what I do?

REALITY CHECK: I actually LOVE my life, my business, and my Network Marketing/MLM team ROCKS!!!

SHOCKER HERE, but my “Plan B” has been my “Plan A” for MONTHS. Working is great thing, but working for someone else is NOT my cup of tea. As my friend and coach, Jeffery Combs says, “Let’s make your VOCATION your VACATION.” And who doesn’t want to say SIGN ME UP to that?!?

I digress…partly because this topic FIRES ME UP!!! (If we are linked on Facebook you saw my post earlier today.)

Is this resonating with anyone?

Maybe you have experienced the same thing and thought, I am NOT looking to “jump ship” and I am certainly NOT going to sink with you on yours…[HEY, it's my blog and some need to hear this DIRECT and to the POINT because they are doing it...hopefully NOT anymore!]

Why do I say they are “sinking”? Because I am wondering if this approach is REALLY working for them! I mean REALLY??? Who taught you this stuff? And second, if you look at my INFO or WEBSITE (which is linked on my profile for Facebook, LinkedIn AND Twitter…plus many other Social Sites) you will see that I have found my HOME with Isagenix and we are VERY CONTENT with the residual income this is paying us WEEKLY. Um…so, why would I go to a MONTHLY pay plan with a company that wants me to build 6 teams and pays me only 7 levels deep when I am building 2 and paid UNLIMITED levels? Or, let’s look at the leadership of the company and the financial state – never been in Network Marketing before. NOT a good sign…took out a loan to get started…RED FLAG…company is in debt – RUN and RUN FAST! People in the field aren’t sure if their checks will clear or

Off I go on another tangent…well, sadly, these kind of posts/messages/chats/emails happen far to often and I have talked to many who have become victims. They were promised the moon and didn’t even get out of launch mode…and are wondering what to do now. Here’s my advice and then back to the post, PROMISE, find your HOME and commit to staying the course for AT LEAST 3 YEARS!!!

What are you passionate about? What do you love? What resonates with you and parallels your God-given purpose for being on this earth? When you find it, you will know, and there will be NOTHING that compares!!!

Everyone is selling something, be it the movie they just saw and loved or the restaurant they ate at that they hated. The beauty of being in sales as a profession is that you are among the HIGHEST PAID PEOPLE in the world!!! If you don’t think that is the truth, then get Erica Combs’ book, 21st Century Selling Secrets. A great book written by a FAB woman who knows her stuff and is making a difference in the world! YOU CAN TOO!!!

Now, back to the lessons learned, shared, and to never repeat!!!

Let me give you a REAL example from someone I recently (as in this morning) friended on Facebook. This is a copy and paste from my wall, but not in its entirety because it only got worse from here…

(friend’s name) you look like you should be making a ton of money. I would like to talk to you about networking…BLAH BLAH BLAH (product results picture was then posted to my wall)

So, you tell me your ideas as to “WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS POST?” (COMMENT BELOW)

I’ll use this as a LEARNING OPPORTUNITY of what NOT to do and share my ideas with you, so read as I BREAK IT DOWN:

1) “YOU LOOK LIKE…” so judgment is being passed based on looks. Let’s consider what some people have as their FACE on their profile page for Facebook. Their dog, cat, kid, character sketch, cartoon, team mascot…and so how does THAT change this statement? Pretty comical if your profile picture isn’t really YOU. LOL!!! Oh, and there can be more and more issues with these 3 words alone. What did you come up with???

2) “SHOULD BE MAKING A TON OF MONEY” implies that I current do NOT make a ton of money…and you would know that BECAUSE…? This would be an assumption and, though SOME assumptions are good, like “Assuming the sale”, “Assuming your feet WILL stay on the floor as you walk”, “Assuming a chair won’t fall apart when you sit on it”, etc. THIS assumption is not working for me. Is it for you???

3) “I would like to talk to you about networking…” and based on what else they said, i can tell my INFO tab had not been reviewed.
TIP: READ the INFO of a Friend so you get to know them and, SURPRISE, can RELATE to them!!!

4) Posting Pictures of your product, logo, results, a website (or a web link/email), etc. is…how do I put this…RUDE!
TIP: Ask first.
There are people who have ASKED ME if they can post on my wall. Some get a yes and some get a “NO THANK YOU and here’s why…” For me, I look at the product or service and if I believe in it or not. Are they a person I am coaching or partnered with then there are FEW reasons I would say no. You see, there is a DIFFERENCE when you have PERMISSION than when you “assume” it. When you “post at your own risk” you risk being REMOVED as a friend, let alone having your post removed or email deleted, etc.

THE CHALLENGE: When this happens, don’t DOMINATE THE DELETES but use it as an opportunity to educate, share, and empower others. SHARE WITH THEM that you are about CONNECTING, RELATING, REFERRING and not SELL SELL SELL. And tell them WHY you removed the post/deleted the email/ignored their chat attempt. State your PREFERENCE instead.

Believe it or not, this guy may have been TOLD what to post or saw his upline do it so he “assumed” it was okay…but, like my buddy, Brandon shared with me this week, his favorite response “So, how’s that working for you?!?” He didn’t get on the LEADERS BOARD for his online shopping MLM company for nothing. The guy is SMART – and so are you!!!

TIP: If you want to get to the top in your company, then HANG with people at the top…of any company! Your network will increase your NETWORTH! If “Like attracts Like,” what are you attracting? If you don’t LIKE it then change your circle of friends. Not the easiest for you? Me, neither, but I learned how and what worked for me and I resolved to implement it. YOU CAN TOO. When I did, our finances changed, my marriage changed, my spiritual life changed, even my business changed…AND ALL FOR THE BETTER!!!

You would be warm, courteous, excited to hear their voice and eager to learn what they have been up to. You want to know how you can help them, to REFER them…it is that easy.

BE TRUE TO YOURSELF and WHO YOU WERE CREATED TO BE!
